Ten Vital Reasons the World will not End in 2012

Reasons the World will not End in 2012

Ten Vital Reasons the World will not End in 2012

December 21st 2012 – a date that is well known globally. Several hundred years ago, the Ancient Mayans predicted the apocalypse on this very date. With their 5,125 year old calendar resetting itself to 0.0.0.0. on this date, many are preparing for the worst. However, how legit is the prophecy of the Mayans? Here are the top ten reasons why the world will not end in 2012:

1. The Earth would run out of resources and energy.

There is no danger of energy depletion for the Earth. The available energy is self generating, continuous and unlimited. Furthermore, there is no chance of the universe enclosing, retracting and finally exploding resulting in destruction on December 21st 2012. This scenario is expected in 500 billion years. I am pretty sure our generation would have passed on by then.

2. There is a possibility of the earth coming to an end in 2012.

However, truthfully there is also a probability of the end being today, tomorrow or 5000 years from now. There is no proper method of finding out when the apocalypse will take place. These prophecies are only based on assumptions and predictions with no scientific proof.

3. The Mayan culture disappeared long before their calendar ended.

The Maya may have an been advanced race in astrology and mathematics; however, they were not so proficient in their predictions. They might have foretold the end of life in the year 2012, but they could not predict the disappearance and demise of their own culture.

4. The Mayan Calendar resets itself to 0.0.0.0.

Just as the calendar in your house ends after December 31st, so does the Mayan calendar. This does not mean that the Earth comes to an end with your calendar does it? The end of the Mayan calendar just means that the Mayan long-count period will end and another one would begin; just as your new calendar for the year would.

5. According to scientists, the Earth is going to go through a magnetic polar switch quite soon.

This assumption is predicted to cause utter chaos and destruction, which will possibly lead to the extinction of life. However, scientists have found out that the Earth has faced this issue 380, 000 years ago. Life clearly did manage to pass this problem, so it is likely we are to survive through it again.

6. Nostradamus predicted the end to be as a result of an asteroid smashing into the Earth.

Recently, an asteroid has been spotted and found its way into news. The 900-foot wide asteroid, named Apophis, is believed to make its next close approach soon…in 2029! Even then, the collision probability has been downgraded to 1 in 250, 000 chance. There is another possibility of an uncharted asteroid or comet appearing out of the blue at any time; however, Earth-killing impacts have been millions of years apart. It is pretty obvious that our generation would no longer be in the picture in the next million years.

7. One of the most popular issues brought up by scientists is the increase in the number of solar flares. This problem would lead to satellites melting and eventually lead to a global catastrophe.

This is quite a load of rubbish as the sun goes though a well-documented 11-year sunspot cycle which is driven by its magnetic field. Although the next cycle is assumed to be 30 to 50 percent stronger than the last peak and is predicted to be in the year 2012, it is certainly not the highest peak recorded.

8. The planets will align in a way that impacts the Earth

To date there is no possibility of a planetary alignment for the next few decades. In addition, Earth will not cross a galactic plane in the year 2012. If this planetary alignment was to take place, scientists have found that their effects upon the Earth would be negligible. Each December the Earth and the Sun does align with approximately the center of the Milky Way Galaxy; nevertheless, there has been no sign of impact or consequence due to this process.

9. The origin of the Armageddon prediction in the year 2012 began with the story of Planet Nibiru smashing into the Earth.

A supposed planet discovered by the Sumerian, the theory of the Earth being destroyed in 2012 began with the prophecy the planet Nibiru clashing with the earth. Although initially predicted for May 2003, the doomsday date was postponed to December 2012 as nothing obviously happened. Ironically, both tales were linked to one of the cycles in the Ancient Mayan calendar that ends in 2012. This is an internet hoax! Amongst many other fibs; if a planet, asteroid or comet was heading towards the earth, astronomers would be definitely keeping track of them. Astronomers have found a dwarf planet similar to the size of Pluto known as Eris; however, this planet will remain in the outer solar system. The closest Eris can come in proximity with the Earth is 4 billion miles, which I believe is quite a lot of distance.

10. Finally, if the Armageddon is predicted to be on December 21st 2012, then why is my car warranty dated to May 2013?

There are many reasons the world will not end in 2012. Many of the predictions out there appear to be hoaxes as stated earlier. With the internet, it is easy to make up a bunch of rubbish and pass it around. Do not be fooled into these lame prophecies as it would only bring you worry. The Mayans did not predict the end of their calendar due to death and destruction on the Earth; instead they assumed a period of tribulation or spiritual change. Death and disaster is a daily activity in life. So live each day as the last, because the end of time cannot be predicted.

Five Frightening Signs the World Will End in 2012

Signs the World will End in 2012

Signs the World Will End in 2012

Mayan Calendar – 2012: the big date!  With the recent fear, curiosity, and excitement about the onset of the Armageddon on December 21st 2012, one can certainly wonder how it is going to take place.

Many wonder how this specific date was chosen. Some claim that this prophecy is just a bunch of old wives’ tales that found their way onto the internet. However, this particular predicted date was not picked out of random. Here are five terrifying reasons the world will end in 2012:

1. The Mayan Calendar

The ending of the Mayan calendar is one of the most well known signs of the apocalypse on December 21st 2012. On this very date the Mayan long-count calendar resets itself to 0.0.0.0. and restarts the next day. Thus, it suggests the end of life and rebirth. However, many skeptics argue that the Mayans believed in the beginning of a time of change and tribulation rather than death and destruction. Nevertheless, this sign definitely hints that something would happen on this date.

2. The I-Ching Prophecies

One of the most shocking revelations for 2012 involved the I-Ching prophecies. These Ancient Chinese predictions show the events of the past and future. Some research seems to indicate  that these predictions are accurate for events that have already taken place. Unfortunately one of the events foretold in the I-Ching prophecies is the coming of the Armageddon on December 21st 2012.

3. Geomagnetic Reversal

According to some scholars, the Earth is expected to go through a polar shift sometime during the end of 2012. This phenomenon involves the Earth’s North and South Pole interchanging rapidly. As a result, malfunction and confusion would occur. Animals are expected to lose direction and electronics are expected to breakdown. In addition, scientists are also expected major movement of tectonic plates which would result in many natural disasters.

(Update: January, 2011, there have been a great number of animal deaths recently that have been all over the news: 5000 blackbirds in Arkansas and Louisiana and up to 100,000 drum fish in the Arkansas river.  I do not know if these are related, but many have wondered and I have received a lot of email about a possible connection.)

Now, this type of event would normally take place over a very long period of time – yet some feel it may occur abruptly.

4. Black Hole Alignment

Another theory involves the alignment of the galactic center. It is expected that the alignment would create a combined effect of a gravitational pull between the black hole and the sun at the galaxy’s center; also known as ‘Sagittarius A’. Due to the pull, the Earth would likely face many problems. However, this incident has occurred in 1998. Research has shown that the Earth needs to be much closer to the Sun in order to face adverse effects.

5. The Web Bot

Quite a popular program, the Web Bot is a series of automated bots that search for specific keywords on the internet. On finding these keywords, the program searched for a pattern too. Apparently, Web Bot predicted the September 11th attacks and the tsunami in 2004. Now it has predicted the Armageddon on December 21st 2012.

One can question the validity of these predictions. Nevertheless, it is ironic as to how all these forecasts are pointed to one specific date and come from completely different sources. So follow the signs that the world will end in 2012 and be prepared for the worst to come. This does not mean that you begin creating a hide-away bunker right away, but it does mean that you should be more alert and not ignore the slightest warnings. The world is so updated with technology that the secret would be out before you know it.

Update:  if anyone is too upset about this article, please read the devil’s advocate article:  Ten Vital Reasons the World will not End in 2012. You will feel a lot better.

So, am I saying the world will end or not?  I cannot say because I do not know for sure.  I do not think that anyone should completely dismiss the idea of 2012.  However, I do not believe it will end the world.  Will something happen?  Even a catastrophe?  I do not know …and neither does anyone else.

Who predicted the end of the world?

The short answer is that neither the Mayans nor Nostradamus predicted the end of the world in 2012 – at least, not exactly.

  • The Mayans’ long count calendar ends in December of 2012, but that does not necessarily mean doom.
  • Nostradamus has NO exact prediction that conclusively dates to 2012.

Now, the long answer is a bit more interesting.

The Mayan 2012 Calendar

Who Predicted the End of the World in 2012The fact that the Mayan long count calendar ends in December of 2012 is no secret. This calendar spans over 5,000 years and its conclusion was of great importance to the Mayans. The end of this calendar meant the end of the age! However, the Mayan calendar itself does not indicate the end of the world, just the end of the age – with a new age  beginning on the following day. There were even three previous ages. Granted, they all ended with some great event, but not the end of the world.

It was an archeologist by the name Michael Coe who (in 1966) first brought forth the idea of Armageddon occurring on this date – the completion of the Mayan 2012 calendar. Now, Coe is not just any archeologist – he is one of the greatest living experts on ancient Mayan culture. Furthermore, he has a doctorate in anthropology from Harvard and he worked for the CIA. I am only giving you this brief biography so that you would not merely dismiss him as a crack pot.

(You can see one his books, Breaking the Maya Code, on Amazon.)

So, did the Mayans predict the end of the world in 2012?

No, but Dr. Michael Coe did study the ancient Mayan texts and it is his interpretation that there is a possibility that Armageddon would occur at the completion of the Mayan long count calendar in 2012.

Nostradamus and 2012

You must know that frankly Nostradamus predicted a whole bunch of stuff. Also, nothing of any significance ever happens without someone claiming that Nostradamus predicted it. I just want to make that part very clear here in the beginning.

However, there is a very interesting prediction of Nostradamus that does seem to give credence to the many people who combine his predictions with the 2012 date.

“After a great misery of mankind, an even greater approaches. The great cycle of the centuries renewed, it will rain blood, milk, famine, war, disease. In the sky will be seen a great fire dragging a trail of sparks.”

Before we go any farther, know this: this is the EXACT same prediction that was used before Y2K to show that Nostradamus predicted the end of the world in 2000. It seemed to make sense for them then too, but it did NOT happen.

So now this prediction (and many similar ones) has been attributed to the 2012 Mayan date. The reason is because what could be a greater meaning for “great cycle of the centuries renewed” than the ending of a 5,000 year old calendar? So, it seems to make some sense at least.

Furthermore, there has been almost a worldwide fear of an asteroid or comet striking the earth ever since it was demonstrated that this may have been what killed the dinosaurs… So, “in the sky will be seen a great fire dragging a trail sparks” has been translated to mean a comet or asteroid striking the earth. This passage has also been translated to mean a missile strike or nuclear war.

So, did Nostradamus predict the end of the world in 2012?

No, but some of his predictions may potentially be relevant… or not.

Prophecies of 2012: Is the world going to end in 2012?

Now a popular date for the future, December 21st 2012 holds many prophecies and portents. Most of these prophecies have been made many years ago, with the first being attributed to the Ancient Mayans themselves. However, is the world going to end in 2012? To answer this question we must go back into the past with the predictions of the Ancient Mayans and the theories put forward today.

On December 21st 2012 the 5,125 year old Mayan long-count calendar depicting the fourth world period would come to a finale. The calendar would reset itself to 0.0.0.0. and restart a new world period the next day. Since the Mayans were talented mathematicians and astrologers, most of their predictions were quite accurate. Therefore, there are many believers in this Mayan prediction. However, there have been theories and predictions put by others as well in relation to this date.

Some people around the world are starting to put forward theories of the world ending in the year 2012. From World War III involving nuclear war to our entire galaxy being pulled in to an immense black hole, the future of the Earth might not seem too great. Several films have come out to suggest the possible fate of the Earth such as the movie “2012” which is in relation to assumptions made by scientists. These assumptions include several natural disasters destroying life, the increase in solar flares heating the earth, and the eruption of a super volcano located right under Yellowstone National Park in the United States. Although there are some reasons behind these these theories (some even logical), there is quite a lot of evidence to show otherwise too.

Is the world going to end in the year 2012? We will never know till the time arrives. These theories are quite scary to take into account, which is quite a popular reason for denying them. It is important to understand that the world has been through several disasters in the past; nevertheless, life has continued to exist amidst these events. Do not give up, but why not be as prepared as you possibly can? The end very well might come one day. It might not be on December 21st 2012, but it is better to know and ready ourselves rather than face it in denial.

i ching propheciesI Ching or Mayan Prophecies?

With the recent prediction about the world coming to an end on December 21st 2012, it is only logical that we find the source of these prophecies. There are two key sources pointing to this particular date that suggest that life on Earth following this date maybe either reduced significantly or cease to exist at all. Researching on these sources would be beneficial in determining the reliability of these sources.

The hype about December 21st 2012 began with the writings of the Ancient Mayans. The Mayans being a civilization skilled in mathematics and astrology came up with a long-count calendar that is quite similar to the lunar calendar that exists today. The calendar depicts the fourth world period and lasts for 5,125 years. On December 21st 2012, the Mayans long-count calendar will reach an end resetting itself to 0.0.0.0. Since they were known to have predicted the arrival of the “white skinned, bearded gods” accurately, many believe that the end of their calendar hints the end of the world. Moreover, the Mayan calendar speaks of how the sun will rise in the dark division of the galaxy on this specific date. This is in collaboration with the scientists’ theories of the galactic alignment of planets and the Sun in the center of the galaxy. This alignment is supposedly disastrous for the Earth as it can cause a polar shift that would result in many natural disasters and the protective ozone layer of the Earth to disappear for many years. The I-Ching prophecies have also predicted similar events to take place.

Searching for the I-Ching prophecies, which is also known as the “Book of Changes”, has been quite a tedious task for archaeologists. Dating back to 3000 B.C., the I-Ching prophecies were written by a Chinese Emperor concerning the future. In reality, the I-Ching prophecies are based on probability; by tossing three coins. Nevertheless, these prophecies have been proven accurate due to the prediction of certain events that have taken place already, such as World War I and II, and the fall of the Roman Emperor. Unfortunately for us, the I-Ching graph timeline predicts the apocalypse on December 21st 2012. The book does not convey the fate but definitely suggests a finale.

Can we trust who predicted the world to end in the year 2012? At the most we should be prepared. It is understandable that many of us would not be able to believe in such a fate for this world; however, researching and understanding might be of help in the event this unfortunate event takes place.

2012 Doomsday Stonehenge Mayan Calendar Link

2012 Doomsday Stonehenge Mayan CalendarStonehenge and the Mayan Calendar

The writings of the Mayans and the Sumerians have suggested the world might come to end on December 21st 2012. Furthermore, the Mayan Long Count calendar ends on this particular date. These ancient civilizations lived in close proximity to each other; thus, had a lot of influence from each other to similarly predict the future. Yet, there are other objects that have marked the same date – the Stonehenge! Could one of the “Seven Wonders of the World” really foretell the fate of our future?

The Stonehenge and 2012

The Stonehenge dates back to being built around 3100 BC. This is in collaboration with creation of the Mayan calendar and the invention of the Sumerian language. On analyzing the Stonehenge several historians have suggested the possibility of the Stonehenge giving clues to the end of time in the same way the Mayan calendar does; thus showing a link between the two.

It was believed that the Stonehenge was used to tell time using the Sun’s solstice. With the rising and setting of the sun, one can observe time. During one day of summer the sun is set as far in the sky as possible. At this time the sun rises in direct alignment to a section of the Stonehenge known as the “heal stone”. This stone serves the same purpose as the hands of a clock as it casts a shadow over the Stonehenge sector. Coincidentally, this clock goes backward and acts as a countdown to the end of time – on December 21st 2012! On this day due to the wobble of the Earth on its axis and several other alignments, the heal stone will cease to cast a shadow indicating that time has run out.

Moreover, archaeologists have found various carvings in the stone. Using carbon dating archaeologists some of these carvings include Sumerian numbers and writings. The numbers “33” and “32” is significantly engraved on the stones. Interestingly enough, with the Sumerian sexagesimal system, the number 33 is multiplied by 60 and then added to 32 giving 2012 ironically.

The Stonehenge holds many secrets that mankind has yet to discover. It is possible that something will happen on December 21st 2012, as it is not only limited to one side of the world since the Mayans and Sumerians lived in Meso-America; 2012 is also a big part of history in other countries. As time passes, we might be able to discover more. Hopefully all this information should give us a better insight of what is to come.

A Critical View of Mayan 2012 Predictions

Mayan 2012 PredictionsMayan 2012 Predictions

With the recent hubbub about the world coming to an end on December 21st 2012, we are looking for answers and quite honestly – someone to blame. This particular date was not picked out of a hat, but rather predicted by the Ancient Mayans.

The Mayans are an ancient civilization skilled in mathematics and astrology. Through many calculations they came up with calendars quite similar to the lunar cycle. On December 21st 2012, the Mayan calendar signifying the fourth world period will reach its end resetting itself to 0.0.0.0. After this, the fifth world would begin the next day. Since many believe that the Mayan writings have accurately predicted events that have already taken place, this prophecy has quite a bunch of takers. However, are the Mayan 2012 predictions as reliable as we assume?

Firstly, it is important to realize that although the Mayan calendar does come to an end, the Mayans did not state an end for life on Earth. Instead they implied a sense of spiritual transition during this period. Since there are no Ancient Mayans surviving today historians find it rather hard to analyze the prediction for the correct answer. Furthermore, their prediction about the end of the world on December 21st 2012 is quite vague. The events have not been depicted their prophecy, which implies that the Mayan elders themselves were unsure.

Moreover, some historians claim the Mayans predicted a galactic alignment to take place on December 21st 2012. As a result of this alignment, Earth could be apparently destroyed. However, in reality this alignment takes place every winter. The Earth is 30,000 light years away from the center of the galaxy which is a rather safe distance. Other than the usual number of snow related issues life is not really in any danger of any kind. Nevertheless, some people assume the disaster and destruction on December 21st 2012.

Mayan 2012 predictions definitely suggest an end of some kind. However, they do not mention anything about disasters occurring on December 21st 2012. These claims have been put forward by those who are combining prophecies made by other sources. Although there have been quite a lot of natural disasters and economic problems, it is essential that we realize the Earth has been was built by natural disasters and the mankind has experienced many economic problems in the past.

It is possible that the Mayan 2012 predictions might be accurate, but it is also possible that the apocalypse could be upon us at any time. It is important to understand that the world is not experiencing more disasters than before. The Earth has gone through worse periods throughout history and life has survived. In order to prepare yourself for the end of the world, research more on the events. It is best not to follow predictions but rather to find evidence for the end.

Mayan Calendar Predictions for 2012

Mayan Calendar Predictions

Mayan Calendar Predictions

Do you think the world will be coming to a complete stop? That in December 2012 there will be cataclysmic and maybe even transformative events taking place? Let’s take a quick look through the calendar that has been used by the Mayans dating all the way back to the 6th century BC.

The Mayan calendar is made up of two calendars combined. The Tzolkin has 260 days and the Haab has 365 days, these two combined form synchronized cycles of 52 Haabs, known as the Calendar Rounds. The Haab and Tzolkin are usually run for short term cycles of 13 to 20 days. There is another form of calendar used to count longer cycles, this calendar is called the Long Round calendar. Between these two Mayan calendars there have been many predictions derived from their complex system.

There are also nine writings, which contribute to the predictions made of the Mayan calendar. These nine writings by the Mayans that combine Mayan and Spanish beliefs that come from the late 15th/16th centuries, these writings show the most astounding predictions of the calendar, and what will happen in the world on 2012. It is the Chilam Balam. According to the Mayan calendar, on December 21, 2012 the world will witness a coincidence of multiple heavenly bodies in the same celestial longitude, meaning that the winter solstice, the galactic equator and the elliptical equator should become aligned.

The Mayan calendar predicts that astronomical occurrences are predicted to take place on December 21, 2012, such as the sun being aligned directly with the center of the Milky Way, if this were to happen whatever type of energy channels from the Milky Way to earth will definitely be disrupted on December 21, 2012 due to the alignment. If the alignment of the sun with the center of the Milky Way happens, as the Mayan’s calendar predicts, this will be an event that will happen for the first time in 26,000 years. Astronomers’ have said that the Mayans are correct in the prediction of astronomical events maybe taking place on such date.

One other interpretation derived from a prediction of the Mayan calendar is that, there have been four past sun cycles which have vanished at the end of their cycle, causing great destruction to the world. According to the calendar we are at the moment within the fifth sun cycle, which started 5,106 years ago, this sun is predicted to come to an end on December 21, 2012, in which case it is believed that it shall cause destruction just like the previous four sun cycles ends have.

However, some scientists believe that the destruction caused might not be the end of the world as we know it, but perhaps a form of destruction that will cause catastrophes within the world. Therefore, what will happen on December 21, 2012, no one can really say, these are mere predictions being derived from ancient calendars, although this being said, the Mayan calendar has in fact surprisingly correctly asserted on many events happening right to the exact date! What do you think will happen in 2012?

Nostradamus Prophecies

Nostradamus Prophecies

Nostradamus, a great medical doctor and famous astrology, is renowned for his prophecies about the future. Born in 1503 in Saint Remus, France; Nostradamus is still known for his predictions 500 years later. After the prediction of the fall of Napoleon, World War I, the fall of Hitler and the September 11th attacks, many people began to believe in his prophecies. Moreover, many deem his prophecies about death and destruction for December 21st 2012 as accurate. You might be rather alarmed from these predictions. However, many of the doctor/astrologer’s prophecies have also been rather erroneous, such as the prediction about Planet Nibiru smashing into the Earth in May 2003. Furthermore, it is quite reassuring to know that the Mayans did not predict the same fate for life as Nostradamus did.

One of the recent topics in relation to Nostradamus’ December 21st 2012 prophecies is Nostradamus 2012 book. Authors are not alone in agreeing with his predictions made long ago, many psychics also believe in this ancient Rosicrucian’s theories. Since Nostradamus accurately predicted World War I and World War II, many believe that Nostradamus’ prophecy of World War III in the year 2012 would come true. On the other hand, many believe Nostradamus’ prophecies for 2012 to be rather drastic, especially when comparing it to the Ancient Mayans.

Nowadays, almost everyone around the world is aware of who the Ancient Mayans were. With time running out on their long-count calendar for their fourth period on December 21st 2012, several people combine Nostradamus’ 2012 prophecies with the end of the Mayan calendar. So is it possible that the Mayans predicted the same fate for the Earth as Nostradamus did? There are countless arguments against this. Nowhere in Mayan writings have they suggested war and destruction. Known for their accuracy in calendars, the Mayans implied the world was to enter a time of transition from one World Age to another. This view might be indefinite in its explanation, but definitely suggests a more contented prophecy that Nostradamus predictions for 2012. Some suggest that Nostradamus’ prophecies are not clear.

Are Nostradamus 2012 prophecies even meant to happen on December 21st 2012? Some argue that there is no factual evidence to prove that Nostradamus predicted death and destruction, and the end of days on December 21st 2012. Since he is no longer alive, it has made the solution to his prophecies rather difficult to obtain. Although Nostradamus did predict certain events that actually occurred, it is quite difficult to believe in information these days. With the influence of media and theorists who want their voice to be heard, it is possible that these prophecies are not reliable anymore.

It is not right to disregard Nostradamus’ 2012 prophecies as being fallacious; however, keeping your mind open to all the theories put out there for December 21st 2012 would be the best way to prepare yourself for what is to come. Nostradamus had a bunch of prophecies that were accurate as well as an equal amount that were inaccurate. Although it is difficult to predict whether Nostradamus 2012 prophecies would come true, it is best to know all the information.

Predictions of the Mayan Calendar

Predictions of the Mayan Calendar

Predictions of the Mayan Calendar

The Mayans are an ancient civilization that was skilled in astronomy and mathematics amongst many other skills. They were always a point of interest for historians and archaeologists. However, recently they have become quite a fascination for people around the world. It is simply due to the predictions brought about by the Mayan Calendar. Since the Mayans were excellent in creating calendars many use these calendars as somewhat accurate predictions for the distant future, particularly for December 21st 2012. This has brought about a speculation for the end of the world on this date and is supported by science and religion.

The Mayan calendar is actually made up of two different sections: Tzolk’in which consists of 260 days and Haab which consists of 365 days. When combined, these calendars make a cycle of 52 years known as the Calendar Round. On December 21st 2012, the Mayan calendar is to come to an end, resetting itself to 0.0.0.0. This is has led to the assumption that the world would end on this particular date. Thus, this specific date has become quite fascinating to people around the globe. So how did the Mayans consider this particular date?

The Mayan’s “Long Count” calendar marks the end of a 5,125-year era on December 21 2012. This specific date represents the conjunction of the Winter Solstice Sun in close proximity with the crossing point of the Galactic Equator (Equator of the Milky Way) and the Ecliptic (path of the Sun). However, the Mayans have not exactly predicted the end of the world to be destructive; rather they convey the beginning of a time of Great Tribulation. Nevertheless, since these Ancient Mayans are not alive today to explain their forecast most do think that this frightening prediction of the Mayan Calendar denotes the end of life. This is due to assumptions made by science and religion.

Although the Mayans were noted for their theories, science and religion does play a part with the predictions of the Mayan Calendar. Scientists have predicted many natural disasters during that period of time. They have also brought to attention the increase of solar flares on the sun which can result in disastrous consequences for the earth. Furthermore, scientists assume that the earth is to go through a magnetic pole switch. If these issues occur at the same time, the end of life is sure to follow. Religion contributes to these theories with the prophecies of natural disasters and the earth’s poles switching.

Are these prophecies and theories evidence enough that the world is to come to an end shortly? The Mayans were quite an intellectual race, but were they accurate on their prophecies? Some people assume that these theories are a waste of time; whereas, others are preparing themselves for the worst. Could the prediction of the Mayan Calendar be linked to the disastrous presumptions made by scientists and age-old religious views? Or is it possible that December 21st 2012 is to be a year of Great Tribulation rather than destruction? Either way, it is impossible to answer the question until the time arrives. It is best to be prepared with an open mind for what the future holds for us.

December 21st 2012 Doomsday: Hoax or Reality

December 21st 2012

December 21st 2012

When is the apocalypse? The question has no real answer. However, recently there have been quite a lot of predictions with relation to the date and what might happen. The new date set for the doomsday is December 21st 2012. This prediction was made by several sources such as religious sources, the Mayans, Nostradamus and the I-Ching Prophecies. Are these prophecies legit or fake? Is December 21st 2012 the real doomsday?

Several religions claim that the end of the world is close by. Nevertheless, a set date has not been revealed. In the Christian Bible, the events for the Armageddon are predicted but there is no specific date to be aware of; however, it implies a warning for any day in the future. However, the Christian Bible does mention several natural disasters before the doomsday arrives. Furthermore, the Bible predicts an end with a war between good and evil: Armageddon. These views are similar to those foretold in the Qu’uran and the Jewish Bible. In Hinduism similar prophecies have been claimed in their inscriptions. These predictions are similar to what Nostradamus foretold.

Nostradamus was a talented French doctor born in 1503. A devout Christian, Nostradamus believed he had the intuitive power to foretell the future. Although there are many sceptics against Nostradamus, it still remains that this talented doctor has accurately foretold many events, such as the fall of Napoleon, the French Revolution, World War I and II, and September 11th attacks. Thus, the prediction of the December 21st 2012 doomsday is rather difficult not to take into account. Nostradamus also implied quite a destructive ending with the onset of natural disasters that lead onto World War III. He indicates in his writings that this war is based on a religious level in contrast to the previous World Wars. He also states that this war is going to be led by the antichrist himself and would last up to 72 years until the final judgment day. This destructive ending is quite similar to that foretold by the I-Ching Prophecies.

Several thousand years ago, an Ancient Chinese Emperor decided to put down certain predictions which are collectively known as the I-Ching Prophecies or the “Book of Changes”. He also predicted the December 21st 2012 doomsday in these writings, with the mention of death and destruction. However, the first prophecy made about the December 21st 2012 doomsday was the Ancient Mayans.

These nine writings by the Mayans show the most astounding predictions of the calendar, and what will happen in the world on 2012. hese nine writings are combined into a book – it is the Chilam Balam. According to the Mayan calendar, on December 21, 2012 the world will witness a coincidence of multiple heavenly bodies in the same celestial longitude, meaning that the winter solstice, the galactic equator and the elliptical equator should become aligned.

The Mayan calendar suggests that astronomical occurrences are predicted to take place on December 21, 2012, such as the sun being aligned directly with the center of the Milky Way, if this were to happen whatever type of energy channels from the Milky Way to earth will definitely be disrupted on December 21, 2012 due to the alignment.
