Five Frightening Signs the World Will End in 2012

Signs the World will End in 2012

Signs the World Will End in 2012

Mayan Calendar – 2012: the big date!  With the recent fear, curiosity, and excitement about the onset of the Armageddon on December 21st 2012, one can certainly wonder how it is going to take place.

Many wonder how this specific date was chosen. Some claim that this prophecy is just a bunch of old wives’ tales that found their way onto the internet. However, this particular predicted date was not picked out of random. Here are five terrifying reasons the world will end in 2012:

1. The Mayan Calendar

The ending of the Mayan calendar is one of the most well known signs of the apocalypse on December 21st 2012. On this very date the Mayan long-count calendar resets itself to 0.0.0.0. and restarts the next day. Thus, it suggests the end of life and rebirth. However, many skeptics argue that the Mayans believed in the beginning of a time of change and tribulation rather than death and destruction. Nevertheless, this sign definitely hints that something would happen on this date.

2. The I-Ching Prophecies

One of the most shocking revelations for 2012 involved the I-Ching prophecies. These Ancient Chinese predictions show the events of the past and future. Some research seems to indicate  that these predictions are accurate for events that have already taken place. Unfortunately one of the events foretold in the I-Ching prophecies is the coming of the Armageddon on December 21st 2012.

3. Geomagnetic Reversal

According to some scholars, the Earth is expected to go through a polar shift sometime during the end of 2012. This phenomenon involves the Earth’s North and South Pole interchanging rapidly. As a result, malfunction and confusion would occur. Animals are expected to lose direction and electronics are expected to breakdown. In addition, scientists are also expected major movement of tectonic plates which would result in many natural disasters.

(Update: January, 2011, there have been a great number of animal deaths recently that have been all over the news: 5000 blackbirds in Arkansas and Louisiana and up to 100,000 drum fish in the Arkansas river.  I do not know if these are related, but many have wondered and I have received a lot of email about a possible connection.)

Now, this type of event would normally take place over a very long period of time – yet some feel it may occur abruptly.

4. Black Hole Alignment

Another theory involves the alignment of the galactic center. It is expected that the alignment would create a combined effect of a gravitational pull between the black hole and the sun at the galaxy’s center; also known as ‘Sagittarius A’. Due to the pull, the Earth would likely face many problems. However, this incident has occurred in 1998. Research has shown that the Earth needs to be much closer to the Sun in order to face adverse effects.

5. The Web Bot

Quite a popular program, the Web Bot is a series of automated bots that search for specific keywords on the internet. On finding these keywords, the program searched for a pattern too. Apparently, Web Bot predicted the September 11th attacks and the tsunami in 2004. Now it has predicted the Armageddon on December 21st 2012.

One can question the validity of these predictions. Nevertheless, it is ironic as to how all these forecasts are pointed to one specific date and come from completely different sources. So follow the signs that the world will end in 2012 and be prepared for the worst to come. This does not mean that you begin creating a hide-away bunker right away, but it does mean that you should be more alert and not ignore the slightest warnings. The world is so updated with technology that the secret would be out before you know it.

Update:  if anyone is too upset about this article, please read the devil’s advocate article:  Ten Vital Reasons the World will not End in 2012. You will feel a lot better.

So, am I saying the world will end or not?  I cannot say because I do not know for sure.  I do not think that anyone should completely dismiss the idea of 2012.  However, I do not believe it will end the world.  Will something happen?  Even a catastrophe?  I do not know …and neither does anyone else.

Mayan Predictions Video:

Please check out this quick Mayan Predictions video that I created for YouTube regarding 2012 and the Mayan Calendar Predictions.  I think that you will find this video entertaining at least.

mayan 2012 calendarThis Mayan 2012 calendar video is more of a teaser video, I realize it is not going to answer many questions.  Essentially the goal of this video is to engender curiosity in the viewer so that they will visit the site.  I wish I had the time and ability to create more of these and actively attract the traffic that I know a good Mayan 2012 predictions video could create.

Please leave a comment below and let me know what you think of the video.

Is May 21st, 2011, the end of the world or what?

Well, its May 21st and everyone is still here.  Apparently there is still time… no one is supposed to disappear yet until supper time.  I always eat late so I guess you have a few more hours.  The harbinger earthquake has been given a few different times too, but 6:00 pm seems to be a favorite.  Only 4 hours left here – but I guess California has over 7 hours.

May 21st 2011 is now just hours away.  Seeing all the comments below and also all the facebook “likes,” I am just marveled at the amount of exposure this one lone article has received.  I kept getting this question and I had avoided answering it on this site because I am trying just to focus on Mayan predictions .  However, my wife asked me about this date, my father has asked me about this date, and the emails kept on coming…  so here it is”

will the world end on may 21st 2011May 21st 2011 has nothing to do with the Mayans or the 2012 date at all.  May 21st 2011 is a date that has been made famous by a radio preacher from California.  Harold Camping, 89, first said that the world would end in 1994 – when that did not happen he said that he had made a mathematical error and that the new date would be May 21st 2011.

According to Harold, the world was created in 11,003 B.C. and then flooded 4990 B.C. Using these two dates, Harold has decided that the 23-year tribulation started in 1988. So that leaves 2011 as Judgment day.

However, is Harold claiming the world will end in on May 21st 2011?  Actually, no. Harold Camping believes that the rapture will occur on May 21st.  The actual end of the world, he predicts, is October 21st, 2011.

Do I agree with Harold Camping? No, of course not.  I hold no animosity for him, but I do not agree with him.

So, what about 2012?

Will the world end in 2012? The Mayan Long Count Calendar ends on December 21st 2012 (after over 5000 years). Does that mean the end of the world? No – although a lot of people do seem to think so. I think it will be the end of an age – but I also think the new age will start the next morning. Will this date be marked by a huge event of some kind? I don’t know that for sure either – lets wait and see.

ARKstorm, California Superstorm & 2012

2012: California Superstorm

The California superstorm is an Internet sensation. Recently the USGS has described a scenario in which a superstorm will hit California (not “if” but “when”) and turn the Sacramento Valley into a sea. Apparently a similar storm has hit several times in the past – most recently in 1862.

They seriously say that it could rain (no lie) for over 40 days and 40 nights. The severe flooding in Queensland Australian and Brazil has certainly added credence, but the fact that this report was published by the US Geoligical Survey – well, that has the public truly afraid.

The only real connection between this “ARKstormprediction and the Mayan Long Count 2012 date is timing really. People are already conscious of the 2012 event – this most recent prediction just has people connecting the two.

2012 Doomsday Stonehenge Mayan CalendarStonehenge and the Mayan Calendar

The writings of the Mayans and the Sumerians have suggested the world might come to end on December 21st 2012. Furthermore, the Mayan Long Count calendar ends on this particular date. These ancient civilizations lived in close proximity to each other; thus, had a lot of influence from each other to similarly predict the future. Yet, there are other objects that have marked the same date – the Stonehenge! Could one of the “Seven Wonders of the World” really foretell the fate of our future?

The Stonehenge and 2012

The Stonehenge dates back to being built around 3100 BC. This is in collaboration with creation of the Mayan calendar and the invention of the Sumerian language. On analyzing the Stonehenge several historians have suggested the possibility of the Stonehenge giving clues to the end of time in the same way the Mayan calendar does; thus showing a link between the two.

It was believed that the Stonehenge was used to tell time using the Sun’s solstice. With the rising and setting of the sun, one can observe time. During one day of summer the sun is set as far in the sky as possible. At this time the sun rises in direct alignment to a section of the Stonehenge known as the “heal stone”. This stone serves the same purpose as the hands of a clock as it casts a shadow over the Stonehenge sector. Coincidentally, this clock goes backward and acts as a countdown to the end of time – on December 21st 2012! On this day due to the wobble of the Earth on its axis and several other alignments, the heal stone will cease to cast a shadow indicating that time has run out.

Moreover, archaeologists have found various carvings in the stone. Using carbon dating archaeologists some of these carvings include Sumerian numbers and writings. The numbers “33” and “32” is significantly engraved on the stones. Interestingly enough, with the Sumerian sexagesimal system, the number 33 is multiplied by 60 and then added to 32 giving 2012 ironically.

The Stonehenge holds many secrets that mankind has yet to discover. It is possible that something will happen on December 21st 2012, as it is not only limited to one side of the world since the Mayans and Sumerians lived in Meso-America; 2012 is also a big part of history in other countries. As time passes, we might be able to discover more. Hopefully all this information should give us a better insight of what is to come.

Planet Nibiru

Planet Nibiru

With latest technology, it is not difficult to look out into Space. Not only can astronomers search for solar systems and stars, they can also look out for any asteroid or comet heading for the Earth. However, recently one of the strangest objects have been caught advancing to the earth; the Planet X. NASA discovered the mysterious planet in 1984. However, historians have found that Planet X was depicted in tablets and wall carvings that date back to the Sumerian civilization. The Sumerians referred to Planet X as Planet Nibiru. Furthermore, the Planet Nibiru was claimed to be authentic according to a Wisconsin woman known as Nancy Lieder. She claimed that as a girl she was contacted by extraterrestrials known as Zetas, who has supposedly implanted a communications device in her brain. In doing so she received information from these aliens about the coming of Planet Nibiru. So what does Planet Nibiru have in relation to Armageddon prophesied in December 21st 2012? Furthermore, why is this issue a target for criticism?

On December 21st 2012, Planet Nibiru is expected to pass between the Earth and the Sun which would cause a gravitational pull. This pull is expected to stop the Earth’s rotation which would in turn result in a 90 degree positional or polar shift causing a shock wave of radiation from pole to pole. On the arrival of Planet Nibiru, all satellites and communications links are expected to fail. Scientists are unable to determine whether the planet would collide with the Earth at the moment. In the event it does, it is pretty certain a polar shift would not be the only cause for concern.

However, there are skeptics that claim that there is no such planet as Planet Nibiru. The prophecy concerning the Armageddon is based on other issues such as the ending of the Mayan calendar. Most believe Planet Nibiru is an internet hoax. Nancy Lieder supposedly claimed publicly that the Earth would face destruction with the coming of Planet Nibiru in May 2003. However, as soon as the date passed she had to postpone it conveniently to December 21st 2012.

As with all the prophecies regarding the Armageddon in 2012, Planet Nibiru is certainly one to take note of. Since the existence of the planet has come from different sources and ancient civilizations, it is possible to class it as a legit prediction. Until the actual time comes, there is no way of predicting which of the prophecies are true. The best way is to research on them more and prepare yourself for the worst.

A Critical View of Mayan 2012 Predictions

Mayan 2012 PredictionsMayan 2012 Predictions

With the recent hubbub about the world coming to an end on December 21st 2012, we are looking for answers and quite honestly – someone to blame. This particular date was not picked out of a hat, but rather predicted by the Ancient Mayans.

The Mayans are an ancient civilization skilled in mathematics and astrology. Through many calculations they came up with calendars quite similar to the lunar cycle. On December 21st 2012, the Mayan calendar signifying the fourth world period will reach its end resetting itself to 0.0.0.0. After this, the fifth world would begin the next day. Since many believe that the Mayan writings have accurately predicted events that have already taken place, this prophecy has quite a bunch of takers. However, are the Mayan 2012 predictions as reliable as we assume?

Firstly, it is important to realize that although the Mayan calendar does come to an end, the Mayans did not state an end for life on Earth. Instead they implied a sense of spiritual transition during this period. Since there are no Ancient Mayans surviving today historians find it rather hard to analyze the prediction for the correct answer. Furthermore, their prediction about the end of the world on December 21st 2012 is quite vague. The events have not been depicted their prophecy, which implies that the Mayan elders themselves were unsure.

Moreover, some historians claim the Mayans predicted a galactic alignment to take place on December 21st 2012. As a result of this alignment, Earth could be apparently destroyed. However, in reality this alignment takes place every winter. The Earth is 30,000 light years away from the center of the galaxy which is a rather safe distance. Other than the usual number of snow related issues life is not really in any danger of any kind. Nevertheless, some people assume the disaster and destruction on December 21st 2012.

Mayan 2012 predictions definitely suggest an end of some kind. However, they do not mention anything about disasters occurring on December 21st 2012. These claims have been put forward by those who are combining prophecies made by other sources. Although there have been quite a lot of natural disasters and economic problems, it is essential that we realize the Earth has been was built by natural disasters and the mankind has experienced many economic problems in the past.

It is possible that the Mayan 2012 predictions might be accurate, but it is also possible that the apocalypse could be upon us at any time. It is important to understand that the world is not experiencing more disasters than before. The Earth has gone through worse periods throughout history and life has survived. In order to prepare yourself for the end of the world, research more on the events. It is best not to follow predictions but rather to find evidence for the end.

December 21 2012 Apocalypse: Fact or Fiction?

december 21st 2012

December 21 2012

As long as mankind has existed, there have been predictions on when the end of the world would take place. From the tyranny of Hitler to the well announced millennium, an endless number of dates have been assumed for the end of life. The latest apocalyptic buzz points to December 21st 2012. Many people around the world believe that something destructive and cataclysmic is to occur on this particular date. These speculations have been brought about due to the Meso – American Long Count calendar, commonly known as the Mayan Calendar. Science and religion does play a significant part with this theory. However, there are those that do not believe in the December 21st 2012 Apocalypse as well.

The Mayans are an ancient civilization, known for their excellent mathematics and astrology skills amongst many others traits. On December 21st 2012, the 5,125 year long calendar comes to an end resetting itself to 0.0.0.0. Supporters of this theory also include the various interpretations of Mayan inscriptions in accordance to predict the apocalypse on December 21st 2012. This includes the Popol Vuh, a Mayan book, which contains the story of creation. According to this text, there have been three previous worlds which were failures. Currently, we are living in the fourth world which would end on the same day as the previous world. The Mayans predict that a fifth world is to begin the very next day. Science and religion helps contribute to the theory of the December 21st 2012 Apocalypse.

Some scientists predict the apocalypse is approaching due to a lot of the signs being given out by the earth. In the distant future, the earth is expected to go through a magnetic pole switch. The North Pole is switched to the South Pole. During this period, the earth is expected to face many natural disasters. Furthermore, scientists are also concerned with the increase in the number of solar flares on the sun. If these continue to increase, satellites will be destroyed and power grids cease to work. Moreover, the temperature is expected to soar so high that all types of life would be threatened. Many views of religion can be related to the scientific approach as well.

Many religions state that the end of time is to arrive soon. The Christian Bible believes in the apocalypse being a time of utter chaos and destruction. From natural disasters to the final battle between good and evil, the end of the world is not such a joyful time. The Holy Qu’uran believes the one of the greatest signs of the apocalypse is when the sun begins to rise from the West and sets in the East. This collaborates with the theory of polar switch as the earth’s rotation would be reversed as well. Many relate the religious views with the prediction of the December 21st 2012 apocalypse due to expecting the end of the world to arrive soon. However, many believe that the day of reckoning is not to occur for a while.

Logically, most of these theories are not factual. Numerous scholars, archaeologists and scientists describe the 2012 apocalypse as a pseudo scientific theory. They suggest that the Mayan calendar is severely misrepresented. The Mayans never predicted the December 21st 2012 apocalypse to be a time of death and destruction. Rather they depict it as a period of spiritual and mental rebirth.

There is no definite way to foresee the onset of the apocalypse. Life has existed on earth through many destructive phases; therefore, there are no means of predicting the outcome of any disaster that is to occur. It is best to prepare ourselves for the worst and wait till the moment approaches. However, rather than hiding ourselves in a bunker for the next couple of years till December 21st 2012, we should just live life and be content with ourselves.

Nostradamus Prophecies

Nostradamus Prophecies

Nostradamus, a great medical doctor and famous astrology, is renowned for his prophecies about the future. Born in 1503 in Saint Remus, France; Nostradamus is still known for his predictions 500 years later. After the prediction of the fall of Napoleon, World War I, the fall of Hitler and the September 11th attacks, many people began to believe in his prophecies. Moreover, many deem his prophecies about death and destruction for December 21st 2012 as accurate. You might be rather alarmed from these predictions. However, many of the doctor/astrologer’s prophecies have also been rather erroneous, such as the prediction about Planet Nibiru smashing into the Earth in May 2003. Furthermore, it is quite reassuring to know that the Mayans did not predict the same fate for life as Nostradamus did.

One of the recent topics in relation to Nostradamus’ December 21st 2012 prophecies is Nostradamus 2012 book. Authors are not alone in agreeing with his predictions made long ago, many psychics also believe in this ancient Rosicrucian’s theories. Since Nostradamus accurately predicted World War I and World War II, many believe that Nostradamus’ prophecy of World War III in the year 2012 would come true. On the other hand, many believe Nostradamus’ prophecies for 2012 to be rather drastic, especially when comparing it to the Ancient Mayans.

Nowadays, almost everyone around the world is aware of who the Ancient Mayans were. With time running out on their long-count calendar for their fourth period on December 21st 2012, several people combine Nostradamus’ 2012 prophecies with the end of the Mayan calendar. So is it possible that the Mayans predicted the same fate for the Earth as Nostradamus did? There are countless arguments against this. Nowhere in Mayan writings have they suggested war and destruction. Known for their accuracy in calendars, the Mayans implied the world was to enter a time of transition from one World Age to another. This view might be indefinite in its explanation, but definitely suggests a more contented prophecy that Nostradamus predictions for 2012. Some suggest that Nostradamus’ prophecies are not clear.

Are Nostradamus 2012 prophecies even meant to happen on December 21st 2012? Some argue that there is no factual evidence to prove that Nostradamus predicted death and destruction, and the end of days on December 21st 2012. Since he is no longer alive, it has made the solution to his prophecies rather difficult to obtain. Although Nostradamus did predict certain events that actually occurred, it is quite difficult to believe in information these days. With the influence of media and theorists who want their voice to be heard, it is possible that these prophecies are not reliable anymore.

It is not right to disregard Nostradamus’ 2012 prophecies as being fallacious; however, keeping your mind open to all the theories put out there for December 21st 2012 would be the best way to prepare yourself for what is to come. Nostradamus had a bunch of prophecies that were accurate as well as an equal amount that were inaccurate. Although it is difficult to predict whether Nostradamus 2012 prophecies would come true, it is best to know all the information.

Predictions of the Mayan Calendar

Predictions of the Mayan Calendar

Predictions of the Mayan Calendar

The Mayans are an ancient civilization that was skilled in astronomy and mathematics amongst many other skills. They were always a point of interest for historians and archaeologists. However, recently they have become quite a fascination for people around the world. It is simply due to the predictions brought about by the Mayan Calendar. Since the Mayans were excellent in creating calendars many use these calendars as somewhat accurate predictions for the distant future, particularly for December 21st 2012. This has brought about a speculation for the end of the world on this date and is supported by science and religion.

The Mayan calendar is actually made up of two different sections: Tzolk’in which consists of 260 days and Haab which consists of 365 days. When combined, these calendars make a cycle of 52 years known as the Calendar Round. On December 21st 2012, the Mayan calendar is to come to an end, resetting itself to 0.0.0.0. This is has led to the assumption that the world would end on this particular date. Thus, this specific date has become quite fascinating to people around the globe. So how did the Mayans consider this particular date?

The Mayan’s “Long Count” calendar marks the end of a 5,125-year era on December 21 2012. This specific date represents the conjunction of the Winter Solstice Sun in close proximity with the crossing point of the Galactic Equator (Equator of the Milky Way) and the Ecliptic (path of the Sun). However, the Mayans have not exactly predicted the end of the world to be destructive; rather they convey the beginning of a time of Great Tribulation. Nevertheless, since these Ancient Mayans are not alive today to explain their forecast most do think that this frightening prediction of the Mayan Calendar denotes the end of life. This is due to assumptions made by science and religion.

Although the Mayans were noted for their theories, science and religion does play a part with the predictions of the Mayan Calendar. Scientists have predicted many natural disasters during that period of time. They have also brought to attention the increase of solar flares on the sun which can result in disastrous consequences for the earth. Furthermore, scientists assume that the earth is to go through a magnetic pole switch. If these issues occur at the same time, the end of life is sure to follow. Religion contributes to these theories with the prophecies of natural disasters and the earth’s poles switching.

Are these prophecies and theories evidence enough that the world is to come to an end shortly? The Mayans were quite an intellectual race, but were they accurate on their prophecies? Some people assume that these theories are a waste of time; whereas, others are preparing themselves for the worst. Could the prediction of the Mayan Calendar be linked to the disastrous presumptions made by scientists and age-old religious views? Or is it possible that December 21st 2012 is to be a year of Great Tribulation rather than destruction? Either way, it is impossible to answer the question until the time arrives. It is best to be prepared with an open mind for what the future holds for us.

December 21st 2012 Doomsday: Hoax or Reality

December 21st 2012

December 21st 2012

When is the apocalypse? The question has no real answer. However, recently there have been quite a lot of predictions with relation to the date and what might happen. The new date set for the doomsday is December 21st 2012. This prediction was made by several sources such as religious sources, the Mayans, Nostradamus and the I-Ching Prophecies. Are these prophecies legit or fake? Is December 21st 2012 the real doomsday?

Several religions claim that the end of the world is close by. Nevertheless, a set date has not been revealed. In the Christian Bible, the events for the Armageddon are predicted but there is no specific date to be aware of; however, it implies a warning for any day in the future. However, the Christian Bible does mention several natural disasters before the doomsday arrives. Furthermore, the Bible predicts an end with a war between good and evil: Armageddon. These views are similar to those foretold in the Qu’uran and the Jewish Bible. In Hinduism similar prophecies have been claimed in their inscriptions. These predictions are similar to what Nostradamus foretold.

Nostradamus was a talented French doctor born in 1503. A devout Christian, Nostradamus believed he had the intuitive power to foretell the future. Although there are many sceptics against Nostradamus, it still remains that this talented doctor has accurately foretold many events, such as the fall of Napoleon, the French Revolution, World War I and II, and September 11th attacks. Thus, the prediction of the December 21st 2012 doomsday is rather difficult not to take into account. Nostradamus also implied quite a destructive ending with the onset of natural disasters that lead onto World War III. He indicates in his writings that this war is based on a religious level in contrast to the previous World Wars. He also states that this war is going to be led by the antichrist himself and would last up to 72 years until the final judgment day. This destructive ending is quite similar to that foretold by the I-Ching Prophecies.

Several thousand years ago, an Ancient Chinese Emperor decided to put down certain predictions which are collectively known as the I-Ching Prophecies or the “Book of Changes”. He also predicted the December 21st 2012 doomsday in these writings, with the mention of death and destruction. However, the first prophecy made about the December 21st 2012 doomsday was the Ancient Mayans.

The Ancient Mayans were a developed civilization, skilled in mathematics and astrology amongst much flair. With their astrology skills and several calculations later, they made a calendar foretelling the future. They prophesied the end of the world on December 21st 2012 with the end of their Long Count calendar, that depicts the end of their fourth world period. This 5,125 year old calendar is responsible for forecasting other prophecies accurately too.

At the end of the day, it is up to you to decide on what you want to believe. There are certainly quite a lot of prophecies that have come about with regards to the doomsday on December 21st 2012. The best way to deal with this situation is to prepare one’s self for the future. Research on these sources and prophecies is the best way to find out all the information regarding the December 21st 2012 doomsday.
