Signs the World Will End in 2012

Mayan Calendar – 2012: the big date!  With the recent fear, curiosity, and excitement about the onset of the Armageddon on December 21st 2012, one can certainly wonder how it is going to take place.

Many wonder how this specific date was chosen. Some claim that this prophecy is just a bunch of old wives’ tales that found their way onto the internet. However, this particular predicted date was not picked out of random. Here are five terrifying reasons the world will end in 2012:

1. The Mayan Calendar

The ending of the Mayan calendar is one of the most well known signs of the apocalypse on December 21st 2012. On this very date the Mayan long-count calendar resets itself to 0.0.0.0. and restarts the next day. Thus, it suggests the end of life and rebirth. However, many skeptics argue that the Mayans believed in the beginning of a time of change and tribulation rather than death and destruction. Nevertheless, this sign definitely hints that something would happen on this date.

2. The I-Ching Prophecies

One of the most shocking revelations for 2012 involved the I-Ching prophecies. These Ancient Chinese predictions show the events of the past and future. Some research seems to indicate  that these predictions are accurate for events that have already taken place. Unfortunately one of the events foretold in the I-Ching prophecies is the coming of the Armageddon on December 21st 2012.

3. Geomagnetic Reversal

According to some scholars, the Earth is expected to go through a polar shift sometime during the end of 2012. This phenomenon involves the Earth’s North and South Pole interchanging rapidly. As a result, malfunction and confusion would occur. Animals are expected to lose direction and electronics are expected to breakdown. In addition, scientists are also expected major movement of tectonic plates which would result in many natural disasters.

(Update: January, 2011, there have been a great number of animal deaths recently that have been all over the news: 5000 blackbirds in Arkansas and Louisiana and up to 100,000 drum fish in the Arkansas river.  I do not know if these are related, but many have wondered and I have received a lot of email about a possible connection.)

Now, this type of event would normally take place over a very long period of time – yet some feel it may occur abruptly.

4. Black Hole Alignment

Another theory involves the alignment of the galactic center. It is expected that the alignment would create a combined effect of a gravitational pull between the black hole and the sun at the galaxy’s center; also known as ‘Sagittarius A’. Due to the pull, the Earth would likely face many problems. However, this incident has occurred in 1998. Research has shown that the Earth needs to be much closer to the Sun in order to face adverse effects.

5. The Web Bot

Quite a popular program, the Web Bot is a series of automated bots that search for specific keywords on the internet. On finding these keywords, the program searched for a pattern too. Apparently, Web Bot predicted the September 11th attacks and the tsunami in 2004. Now it has predicted the Armageddon on December 21st 2012.

One can question the validity of these predictions. Nevertheless, it is ironic as to how all these forecasts are pointed to one specific date and come from completely different sources. So follow the signs that the world will end in 2012 and be prepared for the worst to come. This does not mean that you begin creating a hide-away bunker right away, but it does mean that you should be more alert and not ignore the slightest warnings. The world is so updated with technology that the secret would be out before you know it.

So, am I saying the world will end or not?  I cannot say because I do not know for sure.  I do not think that anyone should completely dismiss the idea of 2012.  However, I do not believe it will end the world.  Will something happen?  Even a catastrophe?  I do not know …and neither does anyone else.

i ching propheciesI Ching or Mayan Prophecies?

With the recent prediction about the world coming to an end on December 21st 2012, it is only logical that we find the source of these prophecies. There are two key sources pointing to this particular date that suggest that life on Earth following this date maybe either reduced significantly or cease to exist at all. Researching on these sources would be beneficial in determining the reliability of these sources.

The hype about December 21st 2012 began with the writings of the Ancient Mayans. The Mayans being a civilization skilled in mathematics and astrology came up with a long-count calendar that is quite similar to the lunar calendar that exists today. The calendar depicts the fourth world period and lasts for 5,125 years. On December 21st 2012, the Mayans long-count calendar will reach an end resetting itself to 0.0.0.0. Since they were known to have predicted the arrival of the “white skinned, bearded gods” accurately, many believe that the end of their calendar hints the end of the world. Moreover, the Mayan calendar speaks of how the sun will rise in the dark division of the galaxy on this specific date. This is in collaboration with the scientists’ theories of the galactic alignment of planets and the Sun in the center of the galaxy. This alignment is supposedly disastrous for the Earth as it can cause a polar shift that would result in many natural disasters and the protective ozone layer of the Earth to disappear for many years. The I-Ching prophecies have also predicted similar events to take place.

Searching for the I-Ching prophecies, which is also known as the “Book of Changes”, has been quite a tedious task for archaeologists. Dating back to 3000 B.C., the I-Ching prophecies were written by a Chinese Emperor concerning the future. In reality, the I-Ching prophecies are based on probability; by tossing three coins. Nevertheless, these prophecies have been proven accurate due to the prediction of certain events that have taken place already, such as World War I and II, and the fall of the Roman Emperor. Unfortunately for us, the I-Ching graph timeline predicts the apocalypse on December 21st 2012. The book does not convey the fate but definitely suggests a finale.

Can we trust who predicted the world to end in the year 2012? At the most we should be prepared. It is understandable that many of us would not be able to believe in such a fate for this world; however, researching and understanding might be of help in the event this unfortunate event takes place.

2012 End of the World Predictions

2012 End of the World Predictions

Uh oh! Not another “end of the world” prediction. December 21st 2012 has become quite a speculation around the world. There were many predictions for the end of the world, some being quite nasty. However, come December 21st 2012, our world is about to come to its end. From the Ancient Mayans to Nostradamus and the I-Ching Prophecies, 2012 is certainly believed to be the end of the world. Let us explore some of these prophecies for our supposedly “promising” future.

The Ancient Mayans was quite a skilled civilization. Experienced in mathematics and astrology, and obsessed with aspects of time, they were certainly masters for creating calendars quite similar to our Gregorian calendar. The Mayan calendar is known to scholars as the Tzolkin. It has been combined with a 365 – day calendar known as the Haab to form a synchronized cycle known as the Calendar Round. A different form of this calendar was used to track longer periods of time, which is known as the Long Count calendar. This calendar is responsible for identifying when one event would occur in relation to the other. On December 21st 2012, this calendar is to come to an end which suggests the end of the world. Moreover, with this calendar, inscriptions imply that a planet is on a collision course towards the Earth. They referred to this planet as Planet Nibiru. It was predicted by Nostradamus.

Planet Nibiru or Planet X as the modern astronomers refer to it. A planet so large, it will destroy the Earth in its one blow. Nostradamus also predicted the collision of the planet with Earth. Furthermore, it was also predicted by Nancy Lieder, who believed she could contact a group of aliens through a communication device they had planted in her. However, to date that device has not been found so it is highly unlikely the source is true. However, on the other hand, Nostradamus predictions have been rather accurate. With his successful prophecies about the French Revolution, World War I and II and the September 11th attacks, it is definitely possible that his prophecies for 2012 to be the end of the world are truthful. Unfortunately, the French medical doctor has predicted quite a horrible end for the world in 2012 with the rise of World War III, and the antichrist that he refers to as MABUS. This is quite similar to the view that the Christian Bible takes.

In the Christian Bible, the Book of Revelations prophesies the end of the world to be filled with war and destruction. This is quite similar to Nostradamus’ revelations as it does predict a war. Furthermore, it is does predict the coming of an antichrist. This view is similar to Judaism and Islam, which does support the theory that it might come true.

The future holds plenty of surprises for us. We should only prepare ourselves for the worst. Although several prophecies have been given out, it is important to remember that there have been many failed predictions about the end of the world. However, one thing is for sure, something is bound to happen on December 21st 2012. So take these 2012 end of the world predictions seriously, if something is preventable, it would be certainly beneficial for life on earth.

Does the World really come to an End in 2012?

Does the World really come to an End in 2012?

Does the World really come to an End in 2012?

One of mankind’s greatest wishes is find out when the end of our race is to be. With all the technology nowadays, no one can uncover the actual date for the end (if there is one). However, there have been quite a lot of predictions made regarding this date. One of the recent predictions, amongst many, is on December 21st 2012. There have been many prophecies foretold about this specific date. The end of the Mayan calendar, Nostradamus, I-Ching prophecies and religious beliefs all point to the Armageddon on December 21st 2012. So does the world really come to an end in 2012? How would it come to end? Most predict death and destruction; whereas, others believe in a spiritual rebirth. The most important prophecy is from the Ancient Mayans.

On December 21st 2012, the Mayan calendar would come to end resetting to 0.0.0.0. and then restarting immediately the next day. However, the Maya did not forecast an end of destruction, rather a time of tribulation; a spiritual new beginning. Many maintain this belief; nevertheless, there are other prophecies that predict a destructive end.

Nostradamus was a talented medical doctor born in 1503 in France. In addition, amongst his many skills, Nostradamus was a great astrologer. He made many famous predictions such as the fall of Napoleon and Hitler, World War I and World War II, etc. Amongst his predictions was the rise of World War III in the year 2012. He predicted this war to be on a religious level, with the coming of antichrist himself. This is quite similar to the Revelations in the Christian Bible.

All types of religion predict the end of days. The Christian Bible predicts the Armageddon with death and destruction led by the antichrist. The Revelations hold quite similar views to other religions such as Islam and Judaism. Although predicting how the apocalypse would take place, many of these religions do not target a specific date but rather tells one to be prepared for the future. However, the I-Ching prophecies have stated December 21st 2012 to be the end of life.

The I-Ching prophecies are Ancient Chinese writings that have predicted accurately many of the events that have taken place. On December 21st 2012, the I-Ching prophecies have predicted many natural disasters and war. However, there are many skeptics that believe the I-Ching prophecies are not true in everything they predict.

So does the world come to an end in 2012? One would never know until that time. It is best to prepare ourselves for the worst and try to bring peace to this already angry world. With the many wars, hunger and poverty, some people around the world might be even praying for the end soon. As humans we must try to change ourselves for the better and become less selfish individuals. The end might be near, let us just hope it as peaceful as the Maya predicted.
