Oh man, my inbox is flooded with questions about the relationship between bin Laden’s death, eventual revenge attacks, and 2012.  Here it is folks: there is NO relationship except the one that you create in your own mind.

Yes, Osama bin Laden is dead.  Yes, there will be a response from Al-Qaida – anyone who says different is a damn fool.  Yes, the end of the Mayan calendar is nearing… just look at the countdown clock here on MayanPredictions.net and you can watch the minutes tick away.

However, do not assume that these revenge attacks are automatically related to 2012.  There is NO reason to do that.  We can have a terrorist attack at any location on the globe on any day – just because the death of Osama bin Laden is monumental does not mean that it relates to 2012.

Look, friends, we as a people have 2012 on the brain.  It’s true, I see it everywhere. Politicians, scientists, comedians, analysts, reporters, celebrities… 2012 has saturated our day-to-day lives. Even the people who leave comments on this website saying they do not care about 2012 – they obviously care enough to find MayanPredictions.net and leave a comment.

And, yes, I do see the striking confluence of events.  I am not completely oblivious to the reasons that people are pointing at Osama bin Laden’s death and saying, “There will be reprisals. There will be revenge attacks,”  and then 5 minutes later linking these to 2012.  Their brain says, “Aha! These attacks will bring on Armageddon and the 2012 doomsday.”

First, there is no “doomsday” in the Mayan calendar.  The long count ends and a new one begins at dawn the next day.  Yes, it is an end to an age, but by no means the end to life or the planet.

Second, yes, there are “end of the world prophesies” from any number of people and beliefs, but none relate directly to 2012.  Any connection to 2012 or the Mayan calendar has been added recently, after the fact.  People look at some of the Nostradamus predictions, for instance, and they say, “Wow! That seems eerily similar to a possible 2012 prediction.”  Then they combine the two and tweet to their friends, “Look what Nostradamus said about 2012.”

Now, I have numerologist who is emailing me daily about the numerological instances involved in this situation.  As you know, the September 11th attacks are referred to as 9-11 here in America.  911 is also the code for emergency here in the United States – after an accident or crime, you often hear someone say, “Call 911!”  Many people believe that Al-Qaida chose that date intentionally.

His idea is that if Al-Qaida chose that date intentionally, then they may choose another important date for their reprisal.  Why not December 21st 2012?  The Iranian government is already claiming that the “end times” are near.

Well, when President Obama made the announcement that Osama bin Laden had been killed, it was announced at a baseball game… in the 9th inning of a tie game… the score was 1-1.  The two teams: New York and Philadelphia – two of the locations where the planes came down.

So, what do I think of all this?  Well, let me tell you about the Lincoln/Kennedy connection: Lincoln was elected in 1860 and Kennedy in 1960, both had V.P.s named Johnson, both killed in ’63, Lincoln was shot in the Ford Theater and Kennedy was shot in a Lincoln made by Ford, and Lincoln’s killer ran from a theater and was caught in a warehouse while Kennedy’s killer ran from a warehouse and was caught in a theater.

What does this all mean?  What does it have to do with 2012?  Not a damn thing.  That is my point – we can build these bridges in our minds to connect just about anything we want to.

If I am wrong and there is a connection between the death of Osama bin Laden and 2012, what difference does it make?  What does it change?  Nothing.  So why get all worked up about it?
