Crete Earthquake | 6.0 Earthquake Hits Crete Felt As Far Away As Eqypt and Israel
Crete Earthquake
April 1st 2011
A 6.0 earthquake hits the island of Crete and is felt as far as 500 miles away (800 km) in Israel.
According to officials, there is no damage or fatalities. The quake was pretty deep (almost 50 miles) and about 75 miles from the coast of Crete.
I realize that many will not consider this major news, but it is just another of the increasing natural disasters from across the globe.
Many countries are looking at their disaster preparation – especially for earthquakes.
The fact that this quake was felt as far away as Israel has that country’s State Comptroller up in arms about their lack of earthquake preparation.

Now let me tell you something I really think that is happening to many people including yourself. You are a strong believer of the Mayan Calendar (even if you are the few knowledgeable enough to realize it is likely to be a new beginning)You studied really deep everything about the Mayan Calendar. What’s happening to many people is that now that you have 2012 in your minds, you are starting to pay attention to the globe. These random catastrophes have always been there, but before the 2012 we just didn’t care at all, nor did we know. Now we are watching closely for any little disaster and we notice it. Before 2012, this did not happen, people didn’t know. Now people are 200% more alert, or freak out (lol) but in reality, some of these disasters just happen all the time without us noticing it. Of course, the Japanese disaster was indeed a major terrible disaster.
One funny thing though, if many people say the calendar resets itself, and at the same time they say it is the end of the world, then I wonder, how could the calendar reset to 0 when the world is supposed to end? It would likely just finish there, not reset, hence the idea of a new beginning. Call me ignorant if u may, cause i Don’t believe the Mayan Calendar means anything at all, research that shows Mayans believed in this and were good at that does not entitle them to be prophets of the future(i’ve read about Mayans, don’t worry I know about their predictions and a little bit of their culture). I could have a small village leave some encrypted messages about the future and vanish, with 1 or other thing happening, and people would take it seriously. Yet, we are waiting. Events may certainly change my mind. The world is so corrupted that a new beginning is certainly something to look forward too.
Hey Jcap,
1. Sure, I have Mayans on my brain and I pay attention to the growing interest in the Mayan stuff, but experts have been talking about the increase in natural disasters for awhile. The first time I read about it was in an article online in 2008. So, what you say may be true, but that doesn’t mean its wrong.
2. There are some writings by Dr. Michael Coe and others that suggest the new beginning for this new calendar and the previous three included “new everything” starting over (or damn near everything). Think of the asteroid striking the earth and wiping out the dinosaur and, of course, the flood of Noah as examples. (Actually, the Mayans do say one age ended in fire and one age ended in flood… but that is in their mythology and I try to focus on their science and math. I figure if we cannot even agree universally on their astronomy and mathematics, there is no way we can even pretend to understand their mysticism.)
