Biblical Flooding in Australia Raising More Fears of 2012

Mayan predictions and Australian flooding:
What’s the connection with December 21st 2012. you ask?
“In many ways, it is a disaster of biblical proportions.” Queensland State Treasurer Andrew Fraser
Well, they have a flood the size of Texas in Australia and they are calling it “biblical.” Noah would scoff, but a flood that is larger than both the countries of Germany and France combined is no laughing matter. However, does this mean that the end of the world is imminent?
I think the concern here by many people is that they are wondering if the flooding is an omen – a sign – of the end of the Mayan longcount calendar in 2012.
They already have the flooding… but now the flooding is bringing on plagues of crocodiles, rats, frogs, and snakes – and so we have a few “Moses” references and the whole thing has become “biblical” again. Well, Moses would know about a plague of frogs and he certainly had his fair share of snake epidemics – but I do not remember too many plagues of Crocodiles… Still, the whole thing can be a bit unsettling for the fresh new year.
If you add this all in to the news from the states of the birds falling from the sky in the thousands and it being blamed on the weather… plus a hundred thousand dead fish in the Arkansas river… plus the odd earthquake in Indiana of all places. Well, some people might be a bit unsettled. (I can tell you that hits on this site have sky rocketed in the last few days.)
So the mainstream media is reporting the possibility of weather, fireworks, or powerlines as the possible cause. Then the online community is talking about doomsday and Armageddon. So which is it? Odd weather or the end of the world?
I cannot give you answers. I am just a man with a really cool website. But I can give you my personal, commonsense approach on this flood… it happens people. I am very sorry about the people suffering through this in Queensland, Australia, but we have had some amazing flooding in the St. Louis not too many years ago… but guess what? It did not predict the end of the world – just a lot of water. So, is 2012 nearing, yes. Did the Mayans predict a worldwide deluge? No.
The big thinkers in Australia have made some pretty accurate commonsense (read: dumb) assessments of this flooding as well…
“The floods …will clearly have an economic impact.” Prime Minister Julia Gillard
You think?
Yes, I understand that as December 2012 approaches, these type of events will make more and more people anxious. …especially when they come in droves (read: biblical flooding, earthquakes in Indiana, dead blackbirds x 5,000 in Arkansas/Louisiana, and 100,000 dead drum fish – and only drum fish – in the Arkansas river) and also coinciding with the new year.
However, when you start to feel a bit scared, I want you to remember these three things about Mayan predictions:
- The Mayan Long Count calendar is indicating the end of an age – not the end of the world.
- You can interpret Nostradamus to mean just about anything if you really want to.
- The rest of the 2012 ‘End of the World” stuff is a bunch of crap.
Happy New Year from Mayan Predictions!
